The Role of Council
The role of the APEGNB Council is to provide strategic direction and oversee the management of the Association. Council provides this leadership with due consideration of long-term impacts and a clear distinction between the Council and staff roles and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of Council members to be informed of issues and trends affecting, or likely to affect, APEGNB, the professions or the public. Nominated Council members act as a liaison between Council and the registrants. Council members are expected to understand and monitor the Association’s financial affairs, and to ensure the Association is complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Meetings
The APEGNB Council meets six times per year. It is expected that Council members will make a reasonable effort to attend all meetings and be prepared by reading agendas, minutes, reports and other documentation required to actively participate.
